When it moved, the ground announced its coming. When it roared, the world obeyed. The king of every age.
At the peak of every food chain, in every nightmare of every creature that
grazed or hid or fled, stood Tyrannosaurus rex. The Apex. The King. Not the
largest thing to ever live — the Primordia had produced greater beasts, and
even the Dominion held longer sauropods. But Tyrannosaurus was not built for
size. It was built for perfection. Every bone served the bite. Every muscle
served the charge. Its jaws closed with a force that could crush a car-sized
skull like an eggshell, and its eyesight was sharp enough to find prey at
distances that should have been safe. It did not carry the raw divine power
of Aurelion or Kaijurath. No creature born of the earth alone ever could.
But where the First Beasts burned themselves out in a single wild age,
Tyrannosaurus rex endured — refined by millions of years of competition
into the most successful predator the world had ever known. Not the most
powerful. The most perfect. And when the fire fell from the sky and ended
the Age of Dominion, even the king could not outrun it. But for a hundred
million years, nothing else needed to try.
