He carved the line between before and after — where consequence began, and change became inevitable.

He carved the line between before and after — where consequence began, and change became inevitable.
Light and shadow danced in an endless present — beautiful, but frozen. Nothing
moved forward. Nothing fell behind. The world was a painting, not a story. And
then from the tension between Lux and Umbra, a third force emerged: Tempus,
who drew the first line between what was and what would be. With that single
stroke, the world began to move. Moments followed moments. Causes found their
effects. Things that began could finally end. Tempus does not hurry, and he
does not wait. He is not cruel, though he is relentless. Every wound he allows
to heal. Every joy he allows to fade. He is the river that carries all things
forward, and no force in creation — not even Aion — has ever made him flow
backward. The current moves in one direction. Always has. Always will.
